Chris Martin's Vision for District 9 in 2026

Updated: 2 days ago

Longtime community activist and civil rights attorney Chris Martin is a native of District 9 with unimpeachable moral standards and a plan centering on empowerment to make lives better for everyone in the neighborhood where he grew up.

EMPOWERMENT IN EMPLOYMENT: Martin plans to open up a job center on historic Central Avenue to train youth and adults in the ethical, sustainable usage of technology including artificial intelligence.

EMPOWERMENT IN HOMEOWNERSHIP: Martin plans to make it easier to own, repair or upgrade homes in the district by increasing the availability of grants and helping maintain zoning for single family homes, keeping private equity from dictating who gets to live where.

EMPOWERMENT IN REPRESENTATION: Martin wants to open the books of the city budget and hold regular town halls so the people of the district can have an understanding of where the money goes and a say in where it goes next.

With your support, District 9 can once again be a shining beacon of excellence for the entire city of Los Angeles, not by returning to the politics and corruption of the past but by embracing the future and moving towards it together.
